Monitor Instruments has developed a proprietary robust vacuum pump technology to provide the high vacuum environment for any mass spectrometer.   This design has no moving parts, consumes very little power, produces no exhaust gases, has a long lifetime, and is light weight.  The company believes that all of these criteria are important in portable applications.
